The urban sprawl that makes up modern Kathmandu is in fact two cities, Patan and Kathmandu.

After short relaxation at the hotel, you will be taken  for a visit of the Hindu culture in Nepal, Pashupatinath.  This is the place where holy saddhus pray. The Pashupatinath Temple is a famous, sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Pashupatinath and is located on the banks of the Bagmati River 5 kilometres north-east of Kathmandu Valley in the eastern city of Kathmandu the capital of Nepal. This temple is considered one of the sacred temples of Hindu faith .The temple serves as the seat of the national deity, Lord Pashupatinath. This temple complex is on UNESCO World Heritage Sites’s list Since 1979. This “extensive Hindu temple precinct” is a “sprawling collection of temples, ashrams, images and inscriptions raised over the centuries along the banks of the sacred Bagmati river”.  We then continue to the holiest shrine for the Buddhist culture in Nepal, Bouddhanath, with its large stupa, this is the place where all devout Buddhists come for a pilgrimage. later visit Guheshwori temple, as equally famous among the Hindus as the temple of Pashupatinath, stands in Slesmantak Jungle on the left bank of the river Bagmati. Guheshwori Lord Shiva’s consort, is regarded the source of strength of all living beings. The temple, which stands in the middle of a courtyard surrounded by rows of sattal (rest-house), is peculiar in itself, without any identified architectural style. There are simply four walls enclosing on image but a kunda (pool). The walls and the pillars are covered with a layer of gold and silvers and so is the bed of the kunda. Right in the mouth of the kunda there is a silver kalash (jar) which is worshipped as the goddess Guheshwori and the water from the kunda is accepted as her offering. The conveyance of Guheshwori lion, is mounted on a pillar in the courtyard of the temple. This temple was built in 1654 A.D. by King Pratap Malla and made more attractive and gorgeous with golden doors and windows by devotees in the latter periods. Thousands of devotees come to Guheshwori everyday; even crowd is witnessed especially during Dashin (most significant Hindu festival). In the month of Mangsir (Nov-Dec) there is a pompous rath yatra (chariot festival) of Guheshwori which starts from the temple itself taking the traditional route to Hanumandhoka and back again. Only Hindus are allowed to enter the temple.

Lalitpur is fragmented from other cities due to its substantive architectural ancient masterpieces. Patan’s central Durbar Square is absolutely packed with temples: Its an architectural center point with a far greater concentration of temples per sq. meter than in Kathamandu or Bhaktapur. Within  the city also lies the Tibetan refugee center, home to most of the valley’s Tibetan population.  While technically refugees, the Tibetans are some of the wealthiest people in the valley because of the carpet industry they operate.  For those looking to bring home a fine Tibetan carpet, this is the place to shop. visit to Budhanilkantha Temple is located at the base of Shivapuri Hill within the Kathmandu valley on the northern side. It is also known as mystical Budhanilkantha temple or Narayanthan temple .Budhanilkantha literally means “Old Blue Throat”. It is a deity of Lord Vishnu; Lord Vishnu is also known as Narayan. It is called Vishnu (Narayan) Jalasayan lying on Ananta Sesa, in the cosmic ocean. The deity is about thousand years old. The Lord Vishnu is about five meter (Seventeen fits) long and lying in a thirteen meter (forty three fits) long tank, as if floating with his legs crossed with his sleeping body resting on the coils of Ananta and his 11 hooded head. His four hands hold the four symbols of Vishnu, the Shankha as conch shell, and Chakra as disc, Gadha as club and Padma as lotus flower.
