Dharamshala – is a city and a municipal corporation in Kangra district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is the district headquarters. #Kunar Pathri Kunar Pathri is a small town near Dharamsala, The major attraction here is the temple of Mata Kunal Pathri, dedicated to local Goddesses Durga. This place is surrounded by dense tea gardens and is a perfect place to have a natural walk. The temple premises offer a good view of Dhauladhar Range and low lying lawns. In the temple there is stone which remains always wet. According to local belief, the moment it starts drying, it rains. The road to Kunal Pathri passes through forests and tea gardens, occasionaly allowing glimpses of wildlife ranging from rabbit to agile leopards. #St. John Church St. John Church in Dharamshala is also known as St. John Church in Wilderness. It is an Anglican Church which is dedicated to Saint John. This church was constructed in the year 1852, situated at Forsyth Ganj. It is built in Neo-Gothic architectural style and features Belgian stained-glass windows that were donated by Lady Elgin (Mary Louisa Lambton), wife of Lord Elgin.In 1905 an earthquake destroyed the bell tower of this church. A new bell was built by Stainbank and Mears in 1915, which was brought from England. The Gaggal Airport and Pathankot Railway Station are situated close to this ancient church. |
