16th July In Leh Post breakfast we drive towards Kargil Road and start our sightseeing with Hall of Fame near Leh, which is worth a visit for every citizen. It is a glorious museum constructed by Indian army, Kali Mata Temple, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib Nestled deep in the Himalayas, which was built by the Lamas of Leh in 1517 to commemorate the visit of Guru Nanak Dev. A drive of another 4 km takes us to Magnetic Hill which defies the law of gravity. It has been noticed that when a vehicle is parked on neutral gear on this metallic road the vehicle slides up & further Driving through a picturesque landscape, we reach the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar river 4 km before Nimmu village. And Visit to Alchi Gonpa, 70 Kms from Leh, on the banks of the Indus, is the Alchi Gompa dating a thousand years back. One of its walls features thousands of miniature sized pictures of the Buddha. Three large sized images made of clay and painted brightly are its focal attractions. No longer an active religious center, it is looked after by monks from the Liker monastery. This is the only monastery amongst 34 monasteries, which is not located on a hilltop. After visiting above places we drive back to Hotel for Overnight Stay. |

17th July Leh – Nubra Valley via Khardong pass. (4 Hrs One Way – 120 Kms) After Breakfast drive to leh via Khardung la pass the highest motorable road in the world (18,380 feet). On the way you get excellent view of great Karakoram Range. Drive to Nubra Valley via via Shayok valley is the valley of the Shyok River situated in Ladakh. The valley is close to the Nubra Valley , reach Hunder by late afternoon. Overnight Stay at Camp. |

18th July Nubra Valley– Pangong Lake (5 Hrs One Way – 160 Kms ) After your breakfast drive to Pangong Lake Via shayouk River. Pangong Lake, situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m). A long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly six to seven kilometers at its widest point and over 130km long, it is bisected by the international border between India and China. A few years back the government decided to open it to tourists though the lake and its surrounding is under army surveillance. Enjoy the landscape in the back drop of the Lake. One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable. Evening at leisure and overnight stay at the Camp on the shore of the Lake. |
