Things to do in Bali

Bali

Besakih-02 Besakih Temple, also known as the ‘mother temple’ of Bali sits on the slopes of Mount Agung, at a lofty 1,000m. Besakih is the largest of all the Balinese temples. Eighteen separate sanctuaries belonging to different caste groups surround the three main temples dedicated to Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu.
Ubud is famous for its scenic expanses of rice fields. And the paddies with the best vantage point are just up north from the main Ubud centre, along the road of Tegallalang. Here, roadside stalls and art shops offering items and curios of all kinds line the street, as well as small restaurants offering diners great views. Bali-Bliss-Maya-Ubud-021-main-pool
Kintamani-1 Kintamani, located in the Karangasem Regency, is home to Mount Batur and the Caldera Lake. A favourite stopover on tour itineraries to this region is Penelokan, which aptly means ‘scenic stopover’. The still-active Mount Batur volcano has erupted about 24 times since 1800, each time reshaping the surrounding landscape.
Bali Safari & Marine Park is Bali’s largest animal theme park. The park is home to over 60 species, all roaming freely within their enclosures built to closely mimic their natural habitats. Bus safaris take visitors on tours ‘around the world’, and animal talent shows are held regularly. Aquariums holding exotic fish specimens are nearby. ArunaBhuanaTours-BaliSafariAndMarinePark-gallery
elephant-_safari-park_1 Ride on the backs of strolling giants at the Bali Elephant Safari Park, which is located in the village of Taro, north of Ubud. This park offers visitors the opportunity to get up close and personal with these peaceful pachyderms and to also go on village and jungle sightseeing expeditions while riding on top of well-trained Sumatran elephants
Goa Gajah ‘Elephant Cave’ is an archaeological site of significant historical value that makes it a special place to visit. Located on the cool western edge of Bedulu Village, six kilometres out of central Ubud, you do not need more than an hour to descend to its relic-filled courtyard and view the rock-wall carvings, a central meditational cave, bathing pools and fountains.  Goa Gajah ‘Elephant Cave

Munnar – Must Visit Places

Munnar is one of the most popular hill stations in South India.  It is nestled in Western Ghats at an altitude of 6000 ft and is located in Idukki district of Kerala.  This picturesque hill station beckons nature lovers from far and near.
Large tea plantations, forests, hill ranges, valleys and wildlife makes anyone fall in love with this place. I am going to share a few places that you should visit (or try to) when you are in Munnar. And if you already visited Munnar recently, then I hope these will make you want to do another trip very soon!
Mattupetty dam and its reservoir  is  located 13 km away from Munnar.  This concrete gravity dam is built between the hill ranges and it is used mainly for water storage for hydroelectric projects. Its reservoir is an idyllic place to enjoy the serene nature. It is also said to be one of the waterholes where the elephants in the region often visit.. Munnar-MadupettyDam2

Pachmarhi – Queen of Satpura

Pachmarhi is Madhya Pradesh’s most verdant gem. A lovely hill resort girdled by the Satpura ranges, it offers absolute tranquility. Bridle paths lead into placid forest groves of wild bamboo, jamun, dense sal forests and delicate bamboo thickets
PACHMARHI PACKAGE

Pachmarhi

Loading image... Loading image... Loading image... Loading image... Loading image... Loading image... Loading image... Loading image...
Complementing the magnificence of nature are the works of man; Pachmarhi is also an archaeological treasure- house. In cave shelters in the Mahadeo Hills is an astonishing richness in rock paintings. Most of these have been placed in the period 500-800 AD, but the earliest paintings are an estimated 10,000 years old. In Pachmarhi, Bagpipes skirled in a flower-bright valley while ancient dancers cavorted on a rock. The pipes and the dancers were separated by thousands of years: typical of this little town in the Saptura Mountains. Contrasting cultures and ages exist in harmony as if time and trends mean little in this serene, wooded place. Pachmarhi is for unwinding, effortlessly. Roads meander gently groves of trees, open spaces and heritage cottages sitting contentedly in their old gardens. The town has a quiet gentility about it as if Victorian traditions and high collars still governed most people’s lives. Much of this ambience has been set, and is still being maintained, by the strong presence of the Army whose Education Corps is headquartered here. The old cottages, meticulously maintained by the Military Engineering Serivces, have changed little since the days of Kipling.
Jata Shankar:
The place is named after the mythological belief that lord Shiva shaded his matted lock here. The place is formed inside a cave. It was a belief that when the Shiva wants to hide himself due to the fear of Bhasmasur he rested at this place. There is about 108 Shivalinga formed naturally inside this cave. There is water opening from the cave which nobody knows that from where this water comes, it is popularly known as “Gupt Ganga”. Large number of visitors comes here every year.  The caves are resounded by the chirping of birds. A shivlinga is enshrined inside the cave. Large number of pilgrims arrives here to visit this place during the festive season “shivraatri”. Temperature inside the cave is very less. Upper part of the cave has a platform where idols of lord Shankar Godess Parvati and Shivlinga have been enshrined. Sadhu and Saints visit Jata Shankar with the holy purpose.
 Bee – Fall:
The height of this waterfall is about 150 feet. It is also known as Jamuna Prapat It gives a feel of Milky Way when water comes down. It is one of the most spectacular water falls of Pachmarhi. No visitor can resist the temptation of the taking a bath in B Fall. Bathing pools here are very popular among the tourist of all age groups.
Dhoopgarh:
Dhoopgarh is the highest point in Pachmarhi. Earlier it was called as Harvatsa Kot. Visitors can enjoy the view of sunrise and sunset from this point. Nobody miss the chance to be in dialogue with the sun god, when it is innocently cool. Dhoopgarh is 4429 feet above the mean sea level. Once you are stop you desire to stay there forever. To see the sun rising and setting is unique experience beyond verbal expression.
 Apsara Vihar:
The water falls continuously upon a small kund creates a magic. Apsara vihar is a bathing pool; here visitors can’t resist them to get away from bathing in this kund. It is about 13 Km from the Pachmarhi Bus stand.
Rajat Fall:
Rajat Water fall is around a kilometer away from Apsara Vihar. Here waterfalls down from a height of about 350 feet. Pearl drops generated from water fall appear like shining pearls floating in the air. It becomes more beautiful in rainy season.
 Pandav Caves:

The Pandav Caves is also has its mythological Belief. The caves were supposed to be constructed around 6th to 7th century. According to the saints, the Pandavas are said to have spent their period of exile in these caves. It is said that Arjuna in the guise of a eunuch taught music to Nagpati and wedded the daughter of Nagraj Vasu, who lived in Nagdwari about 15 Km from Pachmarhi. Nagpanchemi mela is held annually. These caves are now under the archeological survey of India.  Caves of All the five brothers Yudhishthira, Arjuna, Nakul, Sahdeo, Bhima and Draupadi are worth visiting.

Handi Khoh:
It is 300 feet deep ravine in V-shape created by two gigantic hills. It is said that the British officer Handi has committed suicide by Jumping into the ravine.
Priyadarshini:
This is the point from where the captain Forsyth first viewed the beauty of Pachmarhi in 1857. It is also called as Forsyth Point. When Smt. Indira Gandhi visited here in 1964, this was named as Priyadarshini Point. The point gives a breath taking view of scenery of Pachmarhi.
 Rock Painting:
The rock painting at Mahadeo provides a glimpse about the artistic sense of our ancestors. Figures of warriors have been painted in red and white colors years ago still look fresh
