Day 1.   IXB – Phuentsholing – Thimphu:

Driving Distance – 150 Km. | Driving time – 5 Hr | Altitude of Thimphu – 2350 m.

On arrival in IXB, you shall be received by our representative and the drive to Phuentsholing through the Indian plains. On arrival in Phuentsholing you shall be received by your guide with “Tashi khadar”. Then process your permits and the drive to Thimphu. The travel from Phuentsholing to Thimphu shall bring you across diverse flora and fauna, beautiful landscapes and other elements of nature such as waterfalls. You shall also see hoe the plains become small foothills and then the big Himalayan slopes.

On arrival in Thimphu, explore the Thimphu town. The only capital city in the world without traffic lights. Overnight in hotel.

Day 2. Thimphu Sightseeing:

Today you would be driven in and around Thimphu covering key places of interest. After breakfast you would visit

Ø  Kuensel Phodrang, the gigantic Buddha Dordenma Statue located atop a hill in Kuensel Phodrang Nature Park.

Ø  National Memorial Chhorten, a Stupa built in 1974 to honor the third Druk Gyalpo, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. Every morning till night old people and young people circumambulate the Chhorten. You may choose to light butter lamps and also circumambulate around the Chorten.

Ø  Zorig Chusum, Premier institute of traditional arts and crafts in Thimphu established with an objective of preserving “thirteen arts and crafts of Bhutan”.

Ø  Folk Heritage, traditional house giving an insight to the Bhutanese lifestyle, and artifacts from the rural households

In the afternoon you would be taken to

Ø  Sangaygang View Point, also known as BBS Tower offering panoramic view of Thimphu Town situated at an elevation of 2,685 m.

Ø  Changangkha Monastery, popular fortress like temple perched on a ridge above Central Thimphu built in 15th Century by Lama Phajo Drugom Zhipo.

Ø  Takin Preserve Centre, see Takin (National animal of Bhutan) It is a unique combination of Goat and an Antelope

Ø  Tashichhodzong, or ‘the fortress of the glorious religion’. Initially erected in 1641 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, it was rebuilt in the 1960s during the reign of Bhutan’s third king in the traditional style, without plans or nails. It houses some ministries, His Majesty’s secretariat, and the central monk body and opens after 5 PM.

On the completion of sightseeing, you are driven back to your hotel. After relaxing for some time you shall be served with dinner. Overnight at the Hotel in Thimphu.

Day 3. Thimphu – Paro: 

Driving Distance: 60 km, Driving Time: 1.5 Hr., Altitude of Paro: 2280 m

After breakfast, you would check out of the hotel to proceed to Paro. On the way stop at

Ø  Tamchog Lhakhang, built by Thangthong Gyalpo in the 15^th Century, Thangthong Gyalpo is also known as the iron bridge Builder. The walk the suspension iron chain bridge, the feel of the soothing breeze and river could be a great experience.

After arriving at Paro, you would be transferred to you Hotel for Check In. Post lunch, you would be taken around to visit

Ø  Paro Rimpung Dzong, also known as Fortress of the heap of jewels, built during the time of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1646

Ø  Ta Dzong, an ancient watch tower overlooking Rimpung Dzong built in 1951 now converted into national museum.

Evening is free for leisure activities such as Archery experience, National Dress wearing experience on direct payment basis and shopping around the Paro Town. Overnight at the Hotel in Paro.

Day 4. Paro Sightseeing and Hike to Taktsang:

After breakfast, start your day with a hike to

Ø  Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s nest), the abode of gods and monks situated at an altitude of 3100m on the Upper Paro Valley, Bhutan. As per the legend, Guru Padmasambhana (Guru Rinpoche), the tantrum mystic who brought Buddhism to Bhutan, came in the form of Dorje Droloe riding a flying tigress to subdue the demon that was obstructing the spread of Buddhism in the Himalayas.

Post lunch, visit

Ø  Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan built in the 7th century by the Tibetan Emperor Songtsen Gampo

Dinner and overnight at the Hotel in Paro.

Day 5. Phuentsholing – IXB and Departure

After breakfast, drive to Phuentsholing, change vehicles in Phuentsholing, drive to IXB and Departure.

2. TD (Tourism Dirham) Notes

• Tourism Dirham is a tax collected by UAE Govt by guest and it is mandatory

• Hotel TD Rates: AED7 for 2* & Below, AED10 for 3*, AED15 for 4* and AED20 for 5* per room per night

• Apartment TD Rates: AED10 for Standard & AED20 for Luxury Hotel Apartment per room per night (2 bedroom apartment means 2 rooms and so on)

3. SIC (Seat in a Coach) Service Notes

• SIC means guest will be sharing seat with other guests in the same vehicle

• All SIC itineraries are finalised 1 day prior to arrival and may change & intimated to guest upon arrival or during stay

• Any changes in itinerary may attract guest to opt for Private Service with extra charges

• All SIC service will have a buffer of 15min before or after the given time, request all your guest to be in lobby 15 min prior to given time

• Driver will wait max 30 min at Airport upon arrival & max 10 min for all other services

4. PVT (Private) Service Notes

• Private tour / transfers means guest will not share vehicle with any other group passengers

Pick up from Airport at 10:15 Am. Transfer to hotel. check in at hotel, visit Kamakhya Temple, Tirupati Balaji Temple, Nabagraha Temple, Assam State Museum, State Zoo cum Botanical Garden, Regional Science Centre and Sukreswar Temple (The 6th Jyotirlinga of Shiva). Afternoon we suggest an optional tour of Golden sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra (Direct Payment by own). Overnight stay at Guwahati.

05 Nov          Guwahati – Kaziranga National Park (220 kms / 5 hrs.)
Morning after breakfast attend conference, afternoon depart to Kaziranga National Park, the home of “One Horned Rhinoceros”, Check in at your hotel.  Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

07 Nov        Excursion to Mawlynnong & Dawki (120 kms / 4 hrs.)
After early breakfast drive to Mawlynnong – “Asia’s Cleanest Village”. Mawlynnong offers many interesting sights such as the living root bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another small rock. Later proceed to Dawki, a small town near India Bangladesh border. Enjoy breathtaking view of the Umangot River. Evening drive back to Shillong. Stay overnight at your hotel in Shillong.

08 Nov       Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Guwahati (210 kms / 7 hrs.)
After breakfast visit Don Bosco Museum, Ward’s Lake, Botanical Garden and Lady Hydari Park. afternoon drive to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.), the wettest place in the world. On the way enjoy Mawkdok Valley, Nohkalikai falls, Dainthelen Falls and Ramkrishna Mission (drive pass). Depart to Guwahati 146 kms / 05 hrs. Late evening , night at Hotel.
