1. Electricity Supply:
Chopta Valley does not have a government electricity supply. All hotels, including ours, are powered by solar energy, which cannot support high-power appliances such as:
Room heaters,Electric kettles,Irons,Washing machines,Hair dryers,Freezers .Please help us save energy and maintain stable power for all guests.
2. Weather & Clothing:
The weather remains cold throughout the year. We recommend carrying proper woolen clothing. During winters, a windcheater or heavy jacket is essential.
3. Mobile Network & Internet:
Mobile connectivity is limited. Vodafone tends to work better than other providers. Please note that internet services are slow and may not support streaming or heavy browsing.
4. Eco Responsibility:
Chopta Valley is a pristine and ecologically sensitive zone. We request your support in keeping it clean and green: Do not litter, especially plastic. Avoid drinking alcohol in open areas. Please refrain from using Bluetooth speakers in public; they disturb the peace of the valley.

6. Prohibited Electrical Items:
Guests are requested not to bring or use electric kettles or hair dryers. These devices can overload the solar system. If used, guests may be charged for any damage caused to the inverter or power system.

All bathrooms are equipped with gas geysers for running hot and cold water.
8. No Smoking Policy:
All rooms are non-smoking. Kindly step outside designated areas for smoking if necessary.
9. Dining at Chopta House – The TAHR Restaurant:
Meals are served at our in-house restaurant, The TAHR.Room service for dinner is available only for senior citizens, and only in cases where they are unwell or unable to walk.
10. Alcohol Consumption & Behaviour:
Drinking alcohol in open areas is strictly prohibited.Guests are requested to maintain decency and silence inside the rooms. This is a family-friendly property; shouting, loud music, or use of abusive language will not be tolerated.
11. Bonfires:
Bonfires are not permitted anywhere in the valley as per District Forest Officer (DFO) orders.
12. Driver Policy:
While our priority is guest comfort, we also offer food and blankets (free of charge) to well-behaved drivers. However: Drivers must know their limits. They are not allowed to dine in guest areas or demand service at the restaurant.
13. Understanding Location Limitations:

Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport and transfer to Phuentsholing (961 ft.) – The Gateway of Bhutan by Road from India. 23 June: Thimphu Sightseeing – Punakha/Wangdue

After breakfast, visit the Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Dordenma). It is located at a short drive from Thimphu City Centre; Kuensel Phodrang offers a good overview of the Thimphu valley. The largest statue of Buddha in the country sits here which houses over one hundred thousand smaller Buddha statues. Then visit the National Memorial Chorten built in the memory of the Third King of Bhutan and visit the Folk Heritage Museum. Afternoon, transfer to Punakha / Wangdue Phodrang (4,298 ft.), on the way Stop at Dochu-La-Pass (10334 ft.) to view the higher Himalayas. The pass is approximately 25 kms away from Thimphu and is the highest point between the Thimphu and Punakha/Wangdue Valley. Another attraction is the 108 chorten/stupas (Druk Wangyel Chortens) built close to each other surrounded by numerous colourful prayer flags. On arrival at Punakha check in at the hotel. 24 June: Punakha/Wangdue Sightseeing – Paro

After breakfast, visit Punakha Dzong – built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. For many years until the time of the second king, it served as the seat of the Government. The Dzong was named Druk Pungthang Dechen Phodrang (Palace of Great Happiness). Punakha is still the winter residence of Je-Khenpo and King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck convened the first National Assembly here in 1952.  After that take a short and easy hike to visit the Chhimi Lhakhang – The Temple, also known as “The Temple of Fertility” was built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley, “The Devine Mad Man”. 25 June: Paro Sightseeing

After breakfast start full day sightseeing covering Ta Dzong – Originally built as a watchtower, it is now the National Museum of Bhutan with an excellent collection of Bhutanese antiquities, Rinpung Dzong – consecrated in 1645 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal on the site of smaller fort. During the 17th & 18th centuries it served as a bastion against invasion from the north. Currently, it is the administrative seat of Paro district, and also houses the state monastic community of about 200 members. Afternoon, visit the Drukgyel Dzong – Built in 1647 to commemorate the victory over an invasion from Tibet, the dzong was however destroyed by accidental fire in 1951. It was preserved in ruins as a heritage site. A full reconstruction of the Dzong was started in 2016. On a clear day experience a beautiful view of Mt. Jhomolhari (24035 ft.); from here. Then visit the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Bhutan built in 659 AD by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gembo. This is the second of the two temples built in a single day to hold down the giant demoness who was preventing the spread of Buddhism. In the evening, explore the Paro Town. Overnight stay at Paro.

26 June: Paro – Phuentsholing

Permit for Bhutan:

Indian nationals do not require visa to travel in Bhutan. Only a valid passport or Voter Id card are the valid documents for obtaining entry permit.

Advance Online Permits

If you are traveling with an Indian Passport (with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of departure from Bhutan), you can avail advance online permits by sending us clear colour scanned passport copy. Afternoon, visit the Drukgyel Dzong – Built in 1647 to commemorate the victory over an invasion from Tibet, the dzong was however destroyed by accidental fire in 1951. It was preserved in ruins as a heritage site. A full reconstruction of the Dzong was started in 2016. On a clear day experience a beautiful view of Mt. Jhomolhari (24035 ft.); from here. Then visit the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Bhutan built in 659 AD by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gembo. This is the second of the two temples built in a single day to hold down the giant demoness who was preventing the spread of Buddhism. In the evening, explore the Paro Town. Overnight stay at Paro.

After early breakfast proceed to Tawang the Land of Hidden Paradise. On the way enjoy the beauty of Sela Pass (13700 Ft) a border line between two districts i.e Tawang & West KamengTawang, Sela Lake a small lake, which remains frozen for most of the year. Further drive to 10 kms visit Jaswantgarh War Memorial – a memorial to the brave soldier who single handily tried to hold of approaching Chinese from the pass during the 1962 Indo-Chinese war.  Later visit majesty of Nuranng Falls where scenes from the SRK-Madhuri Dixit starrer “Koyla” were shot.  Arrive & check in to the hotel. 28 May                   Tawang Local Sightseeing

After breakfast visit Tawang Monstery world famous seventeenth century Tawang Monastery, also known as Galden Namgyal Lhatse which overlooks the wide Tawang Valley at a height of 10,000 ft. The monastery is a vast complex of 65 buildings housing Lamas and antique scriptures written in gold letters and ancient scripture, images and has an eight meters high gilded Buddha statue. It is the largest monastery in the Himalayan region and the second oldest monastery in Asia. Five hundred lamas live in its residential buildings and it is rich in.

 

Later visit Urgeling Gompa, 6th Dalai Lama’s birth place who is the only Indian to have risen to such a high position in Gelupka Sect of Buddhism so far. Inside the monastery there are several Stupas (Vihar) and people from all walks of life visit this place during Buddhist new year to get the blessing for the coming year. Then proceed to the War Memorial which is dedicated to the martyrs of the 1962 Sino-Indian war. The memorial is 40-foot-high and like a stupa in design. It is locally called ‘Namgyal Chortan’. The  names of 2420 martyrs imprinted in gold on 32 black granite plagues.

You can also visit the craft center in Tawang sells beautiful masks, hand woven carpets, jewellery in silver, coral and amber, ‘chubas’ the local dressand delightful affordable mementos. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at Tawang

 

29 May: Tawang Local Sightseeing – High altitude lakes and Bumla Pass

Today morning after early breakfast, you will drive to visit high altitude lake called as Shonga-tser Lake, popularly known as Madhuri Lake located 35, kms away from Tawang near the China Border. The drive to Sangestser Lake is full of thrill and one can still see the war bankers that had been used during the Chinese aggression in 1962. Nestled amidst the pristine mountains and picturesque surrounding, it was formed in the aftermath of the 1950 earthquake. Prior to the earthquake, this piece of land used to be employed as the grazing ground for the cattle. The evidence of it can be seen in the protruding trunks of the dead trees from the middle of the lake. The lake has been under supervision of Army men, who have also arranged for a cafeteria nearby. Tourists can relish on the delicious Momos, Maggis topped with a cup of tasty coffee or tea. Tourists can also take to trekking around the lake while enjoying the gentle lashes of the pleasant breeze around. You can drive further to Bumla Pass which is located about 37 km away from Tawang at the Indo-China border over 15,200 ft above sea level. During return take a photo stop at the beautiful PTSO lake enroute (17 kms away from Tawang, Pangong Tang Tso Lake popularly known as PT Tso which is an extremely scenic drive with bird’s eye view of the township below). Later in the afternoon drive back to hotel. Rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
